Sukkur IBA University commemorated its 8th Convocation on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at its Main Campus in order to confer degrees and medals to graduating students. Mr. Muhammad Mureed Rahimoon, Secretary, Universities and Boards Department, Government of Sindh graced the event as Chief Guest while Mr. Aamir Ghouri, President, Sukkur Chambers of Commerce & Industry was the Guest of Honor, Officers of civil bureaucracy, graduates, parents and people from all walks of life attended the event.

While addressing the occasion on Saturday, Mr. Muhammad Mureed Rahimoon, the Chief Guest of the event said that the universities across the country should follow the footprints of Sukkur IBA University to impart quality education and produce employable graduates. Sukkur IBA University is the only university of the country offering scholarships to 70% of its students and its role in serving community and empowering students from humble background is highly commendable, he added. I am confident that the Management Team of Sukkur IBA University which is also the team of Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui will make Sukkur IBA University a world-class university, he went on saying. Mr. Rahimoon also said that Government of Sindh has been supporting Sukkur IBA University enormously and will continue to extend its support in different areas and ways to facilitate the students of Sindh. He congratulated the Management and Team of Sukkur IBA University for the university being awarded SAQS Accreditation from Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) and becoming an International University.

Earlier in his welcome address the Vice Chancellor, Sukkur IBA University Prof. Dr. Syed Mir Muhammad Shah said that we have been following the footprints of our founding Vice Chancellor, Sukkur IBA University, Late Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui and today I feel immense pleasure to announce that on 25th of March 2022, Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) has awarded SAQS Accreditation to the Department of Business Administration (DoBA), Sukkur IBA University in the best category and with this Sukkur IBA University has become an International University in the pursuit of dream of Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui. The mission of Sukkur IBA University is to serve community and every action and initiative taken is aligned with our mission, he added. I congratulate the first graduating Batch of OGDCL National Talent Hunt Program and this program backed by zero semester model is an example of inclusivity and equity as it facilitated students from all across Pakistan including Gilgit Baltistan, he went on saying. He also said that Sukkur IBA University is working on vertical and horizontal expansion in Sindh with the support of Government of Sindh to empower meritorious and needy students. Prof. Dr. Syed Mir Muhammad Shah said the efforts of Sukkur IBA University to meet the challenges posed by COVID-19 were highly applauded by Higher Education Commission Pakistan. We are highly thankful to the Government of Sindh for its unconditional support in expanding our technological infrastructure such as establishing Center of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain (CRAIB) and other state-of-the-art facilities, said Dr. Shah. We are establishing Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui Technology (NASTECH) Park with the support of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and I extend my gratitude toward HEC Pakistan for its continued and unconditional support, Dr. Shah added. The Vice Chancellor congratulated the graduates, medal awardees and their parents.

A total number of 531 graduates were conferred upon degrees, out of which 184 were from Bachelor of Business Administration, 74 were from Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, 49 from Bachelor of Science (Computer Science), 17 from Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering), 43 from Bachelor of Science (Accounting & Finance), 20 from Bachelor of Business Administration (Agribusiness), 45 from Bachelor of Education, 1 from Associate Diploma (Education), 10 from Bachelor of Science (Mathematics), 40 from Master of Business Administration, 16 from Master of Science (Management), 10 from Master of Science (Computer Science), 5 from Master of Engineering (Renewable Energy) and 3 from Master of Engineering (Electronics and Communication), 01 from Master of Engineering (Electrical Engineering), 10 from M. Phil in Education and 02 from PhD (Management Sciences).

In total 33 graduates from different departments were awarded gold medals, 14 graduates received silver medals and 8 graduates were the recipients of bronze medals, The Registrar Sukkur IBA University.
