Biography
Dr. Akram is an experienced academician and researcher who has contributed to various academic and administrative positions during his 15 years career, traversing Sukkur IBA University, COMSATS Lahore, and GC University Faisalabad in Pakistan. Notably, he has remained pivotal in introducing and leading the BBA-Agribusiness (2+2) program at Sukkur IBA with the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan. The program is a real example of institutional collaboration, industry-academia knowledge sharing, and experiential learning. Besides, he has remained a mobilizer in organizing international conferences, remarkably the 15th South Asian Management Forum 2019 and Agribusiness Seminars. As an academician, he has vast experience working for academic bodies such as AACSB, AMDISA, AMDIP, and NBEAC in Sukkur IBA, where he served as a cluster head to ensure quality content development, delivery, and impact. He has also contributed to the body of literature on framework-based policy-oriented research. He published his scholarly work in well-reputed national and international journals, mainly in financial management, economic productivity, and resource sustainability. The prominent journals include the South Asian Journal of Macroeconomics and Public Finance, Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment, Pakistan Economic and Social Review, The Pakistan Development Reviews, The Lahore Journal of Economics, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Sustainable Production and Consumption, and Journal of Cleaner Production. In retrospect, Dr. Akram completed his Fulbright Post Doctorate from Oklahoma State University, USA, and continued to introduce and research Pakistan's green energy (biogas) systems. Presently, he is working on commercializing small and medium farms and their linkages to small and medium enterprises for rural innovation, economic development, and poverty reduction.
