Biography
Dr Tasadaque has 24 years of experience; he is highly skilled, problem solving teacher and a synthetic organic and medicinal chemist and an administrator. He got BSc from SALU Khairpur, MSc from QAU Islamabad, and achieved DAAD Scholarship in year 2000 from Germany and he achieved PhD in 2003 from the University of Tuebingen Germany with “Magna Cum Laude” means “with great honor”, under the supervision of Prof. Wolfgang Voelter. Prof. Voelter was Pakistan’s great supporter, the government of Pakistan acknowledged his services by awarding him two highest civil awards, Hilal-i-Pakistan and Sitara-i-Pakistan and a research complex at Karachi University is named after him. https://www.dawn.com/news/1238921 Dr Tasadaque worked seven years at School of Pharmacy and School of Biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin and is author and co-author of more than 49 peer-reviewed publications such as two Nature (IF 50), a Science (IF 47) and a Cell Metabolism (IF 27) etc., total Impact Factor approximately 290 and Citation Factor around, 5600 on Google Scholar and around 4650 https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Syed_Shah108, and in web of Science (Publons) is around 10000 https://publons.com/researcher/4168994/syed-tasadaque-ali-shah/ (visible with login). He presented his novel research work in national and international conferences worldwide. Due to his extraordinary research work, he is one of the topmost cited and impact factor Sindhi Scientist. Most interestingly in 2004, he developed an efficient method for the synthesis of peptide aldehyde libraries employed in the discovery of reversible SARS corona virus main protease inhibitors. These compounds can be treated as a potent drug against the harmful disease such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) corona virus COVID19. These results are published in ChemBioChem 2006 see publications list below. One most important example of his publications as a co-author is “Beta-2 adrenergic receptor-Gs protein complex” published in Nature in 2011 with Nobel Laureate Prof Brian Kobilka, this publication played a crucial role in the Contribution in Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2012. Contribution of Dr Tasadaque to this extraordinary work was recognized by Prof Brian Kobilka in his Nobel Prize award lecture. https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/chemistry/2012/kobilka/lecture/ (at 31 minutes).
