Biography
Dr. Abdul Raheem has earned his B.E. in Energy & Environment Engineering from the Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering Science & Technology Nawabshah in 2013. After that Dr. Raheem moved to Malaysia to pursue his Master's degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2016. Soon after, he received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science & Engineering from the Tsinghua University in 2020, working under the supervision of Professor Ming Zhao. His thesis work was centered around the heterogeneous catalytic conversion of algae-biomass conversion via gasification to produce fuels and specialty chemicals. Dr. Raheem joined the East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai China as a postdoctoral fellow. His current research focuses on thermochemical conversion (i.e,. pyrolysis, sorption-enhanced catalytic steam reforming, chemical looping steam reforming, auto-thermal gasification) of bio-waste (e.g., crop residues, food waste, animal waste, etc.) into variety of biofuels.
