Biography

Dr. Wasim Jan is working in Sukkur IBA University as an Assistant professor of Law at Department of Business Administration. He holds Doctor of Philosophy in Law from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyah of Laws International Islamic University of Malaysia. His research domain is legal and regulatory arrangements for the business operation of Islamic banking institutions. He obtained his master’s degree specializing in Islamic Commercial Law from International Islamic University of Malaysia. In addition, he studied Bachelor of Arts at Faculty of Sharia and Law, Al-azhar University, Cairo Egypt. He has published his academic research papers in renowned peer-reviewed journals. Apart from that, he had the opportunity to serve as research assistant in International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Banking and Finance (ISRA), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also worked as an Assistant Professor of law at the Department of Law University of Swabi and lecturer of Islamic banking and finance at Minhaj University Lahore,as well as a researcher, and interpreter in well-known organizations. His teaching domain (in general) encompasses Islamic law, Islamic Jurisprudence, Muslim Family Law, Introduction to Law and western Jurisprudence, Islamic Commercial Law, Islamic Banking and Finance, Legal Research Methodology, Applied Corporate Laws and secretarial Practices. Moreover, his research interest comprises Shariah Governance, legal and regulatory system of Islamic banking.
