Green Office Introduction

Introduction

Green Office was started in collaboration with WWF Pakistan for environmental sustainability. The aims of the program are to create awareness among the Sukkur IBA University community, to reduce their burden on the natural environment, slow down climate change by reducing carbon emission, to increase the sustainability of the university by continuous efforts for reduction on environmental burden and the use of natural resources in a positive manner. Sukkur IBA University has wide sustainability principles and is committed to reduce its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Green (or environmentally sustainable) buildings contribute to improved health, comfort and productivity of their residents by utilizing more natural light and promoting better air quality.

Sukkur IBA University implemented a green building concept by providing a double-leaf cavity wall with polystyrene sheets (jambolan) in between the cavity walls and also in a rooftop. The buildings are designed by providing enhanced circulation areas, double-leaf cavity walls, and large aluminum windows. This program provides a real solution, and the tools and resources we need to implement them.

Sign Boards for the reminder:

Acrylic signboards have been fixed to the walls of Sukkur IBA University as reminders to emphasize the efficient usage of natural resources, for instance, electricity, paper, and water consumption, safety and health measures.
