Health and Wellness:

Green office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized an awareness session about “Health and Wellness” on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. The objective was to run an awareness drive that our health and wellness have significant impact on how we feel and our quality of life. Health and wellness should be in the top priority of human list. Guest speaker Dr. Shahneela, Consultant and Senior Registrar at Ghullam Mahar Medical College discussed about the healthy lifestyle and balanced diet. Miss Tabasum Memon, AM Safety, Environmental Sustainability and Patron Go Green Society delivered a talk on Emotional Intelligence, she encouraged participants to adopt the strategies for managing the stress and control the anger for good health. She discussed that stress affects both physical and mental health. Vice-chancellor, Sukkur IBA University, Prof. Dr. Syed Mir Muhammad Shah encouraged the participants to maintain the good health and protect themselves from the diseases. Registrar, Sukkur IBA University, Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand thanked the guests and concluded the session with the importance of sound health.

Plantation Drive:

Tree Plantation Drive - was organized by Green office. Faculty and staff of Sukkur IBA University planted trees beside the Campus. There is a growing global consensus that the world has recently been threatened by climate change with a substantially adverse impact on our ecosystem. It is high time to take serious measures and plant trees on a massive level as they provide oxygen, store carbon, help conserve soil and water, prevent desertification and natural disasters such as landslides. The launching event was also attended by the Faculty and Staff of Sukkur IBA University.

Pink Ribbon Campaign:

Pink Ribbon Campaign Pakistan, was organized at Sukkur IBA University. Higher Education Commission Pakistan in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Pakistan celebrates Pink Ribbon Campaign in the month of October at universities and colleges across Pakistan. This year the theme of this PINK tober is "Become a Better You" which revolves around a healthy lifestyle. Pink Ribbon Pakistan strives to significantly reduce breast cancer mortality in the country by creating widespread awareness of early detection and increased access to treatment. This Campaign focuses on a “healthy lifestyle” as maintaining a quality life. The Corona outbreak has also led to a state of realization that maintaining a healthy lifestyle for well-being is very important.

Plastic Pollution Awareness Session:

Green Office Initiative, in collaboration with Go Green Society, organized an awareness session about "Plastic Pollution”. The session was started by the recitation of Holy Qur'an. Ms. Tabasum, AM Safety and Environmental Sustainability, then took to the stage to give a presentation about the affect plastic pollution has on the environment and the extent of the problems caused by such. In his concluding remarks, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Bhutto, HoD Business Administration, conveyed the importance of practicing environment friendly behavior. The audience also took an oath to reduce their plastic usage to bare minimum and reduce waste. The ceremony was concluded with the distribution of cloth bags among the audience. Sukkur IBA University has totally banned the use of plastic bags on-campus and encourages everyone to take the practice home as well.

Earth Day:

Green Office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized Earth Day 2019. Earth Day is a worldwide event, observed to celebrate the planet's environment. The Earth Day celebration this year comprised of three segments i.e. Presentation Contest, Environmental Video Contest, and Painting Contest. The criteria for judging in these competitions ranged from the creativity of the projects presented to effective communication, among other factors. The winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates.

Earth Hour:

Green Office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized Earth Hour 2019. Earth Hour is the world’s largest movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for the planet and nature. It is a global campaign to promote energy conservation and invites everyone to turn off lights and appliances for one hour for the sake of the planet.

Flower Exhibition:

Flower Exhibition was organized at Sukkur IBA University. The display of flowers was equally admired by every attendee. The chief guest, while admiring the flowers, emphasized the importance of greenery saying flowers are not only calming to the eye but also help fight global warming. The gardeners were later awarded certificates & cash prizes by the chief guest. The award ceremony was followed by dinner.

Health Care Event:

Green Office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized a ‘Health Care Event’. The purpose of the event was to create awareness about health among students of Sukkur IBA University. The event hosted a guest speaker session and presentation along with Health Model Exhibition competition. Exhibition participants developed and displayed tremendously creative products, judged by the jury, based on their creativity, product design, and purpose.

Green and Clean Days:

Green Office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized Green and Clean Days. In those days, students participated in various activities including writing comments and drawing regarding cleanliness. Society members also discussed students ‘how to keep environment and themselves clean’ at various garden areas of the campus.

National Green Day:

Green office in collaboration with Go Green Society celebrated National Green Day. The purpose of the event was to spread message of caring plants and to sensitize Sukkur IBA Community on the social and spiritual importance of plants. It was a part of Plantation Campaign of Green Pakistan Program. Students, faculty and staff members wrote comments about plantation.

Earth Day:

Sukkur IBA University Green Office in collaboration with Go Green Society celebrated Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrated worldwide for supporting Environmental protection. Students of Sukkur IBA University made models to showcase different problems our planet is facing and their remedies. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners.

Recycling Contest:

Green office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized Recycling contest. Sukkur IBA University has always taken many initiatives to foster creativity in students. The purpose of that event was to bring students at one platform to make creative and usable products out of used material. In the event, participants were given one hour time for making products from recyclable raw material. Participants of the event made tremendous and creative products. The winners were awarded with cash prizes.

Awareness Session “Health and Smoking”:

Go Green Society in collaboration with Green Office organized an awareness session on “Health and Smoking”. Registrar Sukkur IBA University while talking to students highlighted the major health issues caused by smoking such as heart diseases and lung cancer. Ms. Tabasum, patron Go Green Society gave a presentation on the adverse effects of smoking: sheesha and cigarettes. Dr. Abdul Rehman Soomrani, HoD CS department also interacted with students and explained how “smoking reduces stress” is a myth.

Green Clean Week: :

Green Office in collaboration with Go Green Society organized Clean and Green Week. During the week members of society reminded the students how to keep environment clean at garden areas of the Campus. Student also participated in picking up the litter to ensure cleanliness across Sukkur IBA Campus.
