Green Practices Implementation

Employees and students of Sukkur IBA University implement following practices


a) Energy Conservation

Employees and students:
  • Turn off lights when not in use and use natural light when possible.
  • Turn off all computers, terminals, speakers and other office equipment at the end of every work day.
  • Activate the power down features on computer and monitor to enter into a sleep mode when not in use.
  • Unplug equipment that drains energy even when not in use (for instance, fans, tea makers, desktop printers, cell phone chargers).
  • Use the stairs when possible.
  • Utilize video conferencing, zoom meeting and conference calls as an alternative to travel when possible.

b) Reduction of Materials Consumption

Employees and students:
  • Avoid using paper.
  • Distributing and storing documents electronically.
  • Print and photocopy only what is needed and double side printing when possible.
  • Use the back side of old documents

c) Minimize Waste and Increase Recycling

Employees and students:
  • Use durable reusable cups, beverage containers and plates.
  • Recycle paper, paper products and plastic.

d) Commitment to Green Purchasing

Employees and students:
  • Use Energy Star office equipment.
  • Use LED lights.
  • Use environmentally sustainable Electronic Appliances.

e) Cleanliness


  • Employees and students maintain cleanliness across Sukkur IBA University.

Sukkur IBA University implemented green building concept by providing double leaf cavity wall with a polystyrene sheets (jambolan) in between the cavity walls and also in roof top. The buildings are designed by providing enhanced circulation area, double leaf cavity walls, and large aluminum windows.
