Smart Campus (High Speed Internet Connectivity)

Sukkur Institute of Business Administration with collaboration of Higher Education Commission has deployed Smart University Project to transform the conventional way of pedagogy to modern methods using Information and Communication Technologies. Smart Campus provide unlimited high speed Internet Connectivity throughout Campus. The Campus is connected through Wi-Fi connectivity and WLAN Mesh Network which provide free Wi-Fi access to the students, faculty, and researchers across the university. High speed Internet is connected through PERN-IV at 364 Mbps speed available 24 hours on all the workstations.

Smart University has Eduroam Network that provides you Inter-University roaming service. It provides researchers, teachers and students easy and secure network access when visiting an institution other than their own. Authentication of users is performed by their home institution, using the same credentials as when they access the network locally, while authorization to access the Internet and possibly other resources is handled by the visited institution. Users do not have to pay for using Eduroam.

Sukkur IBA has deployed wireless as well as wired Network across the buildings. Whereas all buildings are interconnected through optical fiber ring and Local Area Network installed within the building. This help teachers and learners to download and upload the information swiftly. Students can use computer labs and Internet facility 24/7 for academic purpose. Students are also provided data storage facility as well with exclusive rights which can be accessed from any computer LAN.

Video Conferencing Facility

Sukkur IBA has two (02) video conferencing rooms, fully equipped with modern infrastructure and all-allied facilities. Activities that take place through video conferencing facilities include: international meetings, lectures, trainings, discussions, attending national level meetings of HEC and other stakeholders. This facility has also been used to teach students multiple courses through online classes by international scholars from different destinations. At the moment, these two video conferencing rooms has sitting capacity of 120 people at a time.

Campus Facilities

In this cutting age, ICT has become an integral part of teaching and knowledge sharing. Teaching and knowledge sharing is incomplete without these resources. Sukkur IBA has large pool of ICT / computing resources used in teaching and learning process. Institute spends hefty funds on availability and maintenance of these resources. Currently, there are more than 1000 branded computers used for knowledge delivery purpose, majority of them are Core i7, i5, and i3. These all machines are connected with high speed internet connectivity forming the institute’s Local Area Network (LAN). Sukkur IBA also has 14 rack servers of IBM networked on Microsoft Windows 2013 server running 24/7. Following is the list of computer laboratories existing in institute:

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application or Web-based technology used to plan, implement, and assess a specific learning process. Typically, a learning management system provides an instructor with a way to create and deliver content, monitor student participation, and assess student performance. SUKKUR IBA has the world-famous Learning Management System Moodle 3.1 (that’s the latest version of Moodle HQ- An Australian Based Open Source Software) fully functional available 24/7 to cater and bolster the online academic activities.

SUKKRU IBA has also integrated the latest version of video conferencing tools BigBlueButton and Zoom with SUKKUR IBA LMS that helps conduct online lectures and helps maximize the faculty student interaction. Moreover, LMS is designed for faculty members to create, update and maintain the courses information.
