SIBACom 2017

To motivate and inspire the students of engineering and computer science of various universities throughout Sindh, Sukkur IBA University organized competition under the title of SIBACOM 2017 at cricket ground SIBAU on Saturday. Students of electrical engineering and computer science departments from various universities including, Sukkur IBA University, Bahria University, PAF-KIET Karachi, University of Sindh, MUET SZAB Campus Khairpur Mirs, QUEST Nawabshah, QUEST Larkana, MUET Jamshoro, DHA SUFFA Karachi, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Mirs, SZABIST participated in the competition. The competition was organized by the students of electrical engineering department under its Sukkur IBA IEEE Chapter and was supervised by the Assistant Professor and coordinator of ME Program Dr. Muhammad Asim Samejo. Students from 17 colleges of upper Sindh including, Sukkur, Larkana, Ghotki, Pano Akil, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Khairpur and others visited the event and took keen interest in different projects showcased by the students of different universities.
Acting Vice Chancellor Sukkur IBA University Engr. Zahid Hussain Khand formally inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon and went around different stalls, established by the students of various universities. He appreciated the hard work of the students, who have come up with different projects. The projects consisted of Hardware competition, Line following robot, Speed programming competition, Gamming, Circuit design competition and others. Total number of participating students were around 500. It is mentioned that, this competition SIBACOM is a regular feature of Sukkur IBA University, which is aimed at to motivate and inspire the students of engineering and computer science & technology.
Assistant Professor Asim Samejo briefing about the competition, said, gone are the days when the parents wanted to make their children doctors and engineers, but now we have to produce scientists, who can help invent various technologies that facilitate today’s busy living. This event is organized to bring professionals and potential students on one platform to motivate and inspire them to opt for modern sciences instead of running for becoming doctors or engineers alone, he said. He said, we have already wasted much of our precious time and now we must resolve to produce more scientists to make Pakistan a prosperous country.

IEEE Student Branch Sukkur IBA University and Team SIBACOM'17 successfully arranged promotional activity of SIBACOM'17, In the event HOD Electrical Engineering Department Dr. Faheem Akhtar Chachar along with other faculty members joined the activity and praised the efforts of Team SIBACOM'17 and encouraged students to be a part of the one of the most happening event of Sukkur IBA University. Students participated and showed a great interest in different activities arranged for them. Team SIBACOM'17 is grateful to everyone who joined us the activity and made it a success..
